WNY Caregiver Connections Group & Respite Information
If you're on Facebook, we invite you to join our WNY Caregivers Connections group. This group serves as a valuable resource for connecting with reliable child care providers, community habilitation workers, and respite staff who understand your family's unique needs. Families can post advertisements to find dependable service providers, while service providers can showcase their services and availability to families seeking reliable support and care.
Many families receive funding for respite services through the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD). If you are selected for a position, you will be required to complete a drug screening and background check. Additionally, you will receive paid training, paid time off, mileage reimbursement, and other benefits. The first step would be to connect with a family to determine if they will be paying you out of pocket or through OPWDD.
If you have a child with a disability and are interested in learning more about OPWDD, please reach out to the intake department at Person Centered Services, Prime Care, or Parent Network of WNY
